Johnny Griggs

RP. Comedy characters, impressions & accents. Creative & inventive.

Johnny has RP, Cockney, Birmingham, Liverpool, Caribean and Aussie, all with versatile deliveries.  He's an actor, voice artist and session singer with great versatility in each arena.

He was educated at Kings Canterbury, and went on to St Martin's School of Art, after which he successfully completed a 3-year Dip. Ad. course in graphics and photography at the London College of Printing.  He changed direction to being writing and arranging music for film and TV, co-producing music for Eastenders, BBC's Holiday Programme and Ross King.  He also wrote and produced the music for TV ads, for clients including Budweiser, The Sunday Times and British Airways.

During the last few years, through his company Maximum Entertainment, he has been involved in the production, conception and recording of numerous children's audio titles, as well as producing a substantial number of audio programmes for the health industry and the corporate sector.

Johnny's voice work covers a wide variety of areas.  His commercials include those for Argos, Audi, Dagenham Motors, Salaam Home & Car Insurance, The Prudential, the Dept of Health, the Barbados Tourist Authority, Harper Collins, Dragonball (game), Hachette, CNN, The Wall St Journal, British Telecom, Vodafone, Budweiser and Gaviscon.  He's recorded corporate VOs for Citibank, Britannia Building Society, Rover, and Sir Jeremy Isaac's TV production Millennium.

He's also recorded a vast range of character voices: from serious documentary re-voicing on Nat Geo's Seconds From Disaster; to more whacky deliveries for children's audio projects including Teddy Trucks, Williams Wish Wellingtons, and Albert The 5th Musketeer; to game records Highlander and Mortyr 2; and animation VOs on Dork Hunters From Outer Space (BKN).
