Richard Vaughan
RP / Trans-Atlantic. Versatile - deep, smouldering, authoritative to warm, reassuring, ironic, Promos, Ads, Documentaries, Corporates.
Richard is an independent broadcaster, programme-maker and voice artist. He began his career with BBC Radio London, where he produced and presented the afternoon celebrity / music show, before fronting the breakfast current affairs show. On BBC Radio 4 he was a regular contributor to their travel programme, Breakaway. He also worked with BBC Radio 2 and LBC, and presented BFBS UK, the flagship programme for UK Armed Forces.
TV broadcast experience includes presenting and reporting for the BBC in news, colour stories, celebrity interviews, arts and entertainment, and international news for APTN. He has also provided commentary on numerous sporting events including the Asian Games Opening Ceremony, the Olympic Games (including 2012), Grand Slam tennis, winter sports, motorsport, equestrian sport and sailing - for the BBC, ITV, ESPN and Eurosport.
In voice work he's got a wide variety of character voices and accents. His documentaries include narrating National Geographic's Seconds From Disaster (series 1, 2, 5 & 6), and numerous others for BBC, ITV and Universal. He's recorded corporates for International Olympic Committee (IOC), M&G Investments, Vosper Thornycroft, the Metropolitan Police, Microsoft, BT and the Tony Blair Foundation.
Other voice work includes promos for Eurosport, National Geographic, GMTV and Discovery Channel, idents for Virgin Radio, and commercials for Pirelli, Samsung, BT, Jameson Whisky, BAe Systems and the launching of Minette Walters' book The Chameleon's Shadow.
