Fergus O'Kelly

IRISH. Mid-range and whimsical. As warm as they come!

Fergus is an Irishman with a big twinkle who sings, plays piano and is a choirmaster.  He has the combined charm of the North and the South, is comfortable in both (although native to the latter), and has winning ways with a script.

From the 1960s to the 1980s Fergus presented the BBC schools programmes Music Workshop and Singing Together on BBC Radio 4.  In '68 he was asked to present a new science education programme, Science All Around, which ran for 14 years and won an award for best programme of its kind at that time.

In more recent times he has begin to do a little acting again.  He toured in Never Stand Still a play about John and Charles Wesley, and recently appeared in Father Ted, and has read from Roddy Doyle` latest book on BBC Radio 4.

For the past 30 years he has had experience in all types of voiceover work.  Recent recordings include from radio ads for Tesco and promos for Front Row.

His is also working on a CD of jazz standards to be released this summer, and in recent months has had stints with the Central Office of Information and IMC Productions. Fergus also has his own voice production studio in Putney,
London.
